HOMEOPATHY is a therapeutic medical system that aims to restore optimal functioning by stimulating the patient’s innate mechanism of repair and defence.
Homeopathy means ‘similar suffering’ or treatment by the same. It is based on the principle that a drug in small quantities will cure the same symptoms it causes in large quantities.
Dr. Samuel C. Hahnemann was the founder of Homeopathy 200 years ago and had discovered the principle of ‘like can cure like’. His life work resulted in the creation of a new system of medicine called Homeopathy.
Homeopathy follows a holistic approach to health and requires a practitioner to constantly investigate health from a multi-dimensional perspective. Patients are assessed from a mental, emotional and physical standpoint, in order to see how an individual responds or reacts to their immediate environment and to find the underlying cause of disease.
Homeopaths assess what makes a person susceptible to disease and do not only look at which bacteria or virus has caused the person to get ill. It is therefore necessary to strengthen the body’s innate immune system, referred to as the “Vital Force”. When out of balance, disease is the result. A correctly prescribed homeopathic remedy strengthens the “Vital Force”. An integral part of the homeopathic approach to health and wellness is to maintain balance by addressing the cornerstones of health (sleep, nutrition, breathing, exercise and mental relaxation).
